The Yazidis, who were recently systemically the target of massacre, rape and sex slavery by Isis in Iraq and Syria, are now facing forcible conversion to Islam under the threat of death from Turkish-backed forces, Islamic extremists groups and Syrian rebel groups in Afrin.

We have observed Yazidis being directly killed.”
Islamist rebel fighters, who are allied to Turkey and have occupied Yazidi villages in the area, have destroyed the temples and places of worship of the Yazidis, which it causes thousands Yazidis to flee from their villages to other safe areas in West Kurdistan(Rojava).
These groups took control of the city of Afrin, they carried out a number of violations against the Yazidis, forcing them to flee and creating demographic change in the area.
These violations, according to human rights activists groups and reports amounted to war crimes, as these radical groups pushed to imposed an Islamic environment on the area’s Yazidis and forced them to attend Islamic mosques for prayers as well as changing some Yazidi centers in Afrin into Islamic mosques and destroying some Yazidi shrines, cemeteries and other holy places as well as looting their contents.
