Immigration and Displaced Duhok Branch: On average, 80 Shingal IDP families are closed and their returns are facilitated

The Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration announced the return of 5,700 Yezidi IDPs to the Shingal district and its areas, and the Ministry of Duhok branch revealed to “Ezidi 24” the grant allocated to them and the assistance that will be available in the coming period in their areas.

On that note, “Muhammad Al-Babawati”, Information and Relations Officer at the Ministry of Immigration and Displaced, Duhok Branch, told “Ezidi 24”, saying, “Recently, the number of families returning to the Shingal district and its regions increased by a very large percentage.”

“Al-Babawati” stressed, “Every day, the return transactions are completed for a large number of Yazidi IDPs who live in the camps of Duhok Governorate, and as an average of between 70 – 80 families per day.”

Also, there is news about allocating a sum of money to the Yazidis returning by the Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration as a grant for their compensation of one and a half million Iraqi dinars, but until now the matter is not 100% certain and it is a proposal under study.

“The Department of Return at the Ministry distributes healthy and nutritional baskets to the returning families .

Al-Babawati revealed to Ezidi 24 the number of families returning to the Shingal district and its regions in the past two months was (5700) families.

Al-Babawati said, “The families that are still remaining in the camps for the displaced in the Dohuk Governorate in the Kurdistan Region, according to the June statistics, are 29,612 families, and it is certain that since the beginning of this month and until now at the very least, they returned from each camp to 20 to 25 other families.”
